About the Role
THE MISSION
As MARFORPAC G-35 Future Operations Planner – Fires and Effects, you're the strategic architect behind theater-level fires coordination across the Indo-Pacific. You'll serve as senior advisor to Marine Forces Pacific leadership, ensuring our forces can deliver precise, coordinated effects when crisis demands action. This role puts you at the center of joint operations planning, working directly with USINDOPACOM, PACFLT, and Theater Joint Force Maritime Component Command to build the operational framework that keeps America's Pacific interests secure.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Apply expert knowledge of US Fires and Effects Security Agreements, policies, and strategies from USINDOPACOM, HQMC, and PACFLT
Integrate joint warfighting concepts and command relationships into operational planning and strategic assessment
Execute joint and Marine Corps planning processes for operational plans, contingency plans, and strategic initiatives
Build compelling visual and written briefings using Microsoft Office and military planning software
Identify and solve complex fires and effects problems, presenting actionable solutions to senior decision makers
Participate in operational planning teams, working groups, boards, and integrated planning conferences
Attend daily command briefs and contribute to critical decision cycles
Support synchronization meetings and working groups across MARFORPAC, PACFLT, USINDOPACOM, and joint service components
Contribute to campaign-level assessments and joint validation boards for all-domain planning efforts
Write operational orders, warning orders, execution orders, after-action reports, and strategic meeting minutes
Schedule and deliver planning conferences, exercises, and wargaming events
Support modernization assessments and autonomous systems integration for next-generation warfare capabilities
Salary
$113,000 - $133,000 per year
Requirements
WHAT YOU BRING
Bachelor's degree in Military Studies, International Relations, National Security, Strategic Studies, Operations Management, Public Administration, Emergency Management, or related field
5+ years of experience in operations planning, military planning, readiness planning, contingency planning, or strategic analysis
Proven track record supporting operational planning cycles, mission readiness activities, or force employment planning
Working knowledge of military planning processes, joint planning concepts, and operational-level decision support
Experience coordinating across diverse stakeholders and translating strategic objectives into executable operational plans
Strong analytical writing, briefing, and communication skills with senior military leadership
Ability to manage multiple complex planning efforts in high-tempo, dynamic operational environments
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in Strategic Studies, Defense Analysis, Security Studies, Business Administration, Public Policy, or Operations Research
Advanced Operational Planning Schools: JAWS, SAMS, MAWS, JCWS, JPME
Senior Professional Military Education: CGSC, ILE, USMC CSC, MAGTF, NCSC, War College
Professional certifications: PMP, CMP
Prior military MOS experience: USMC 0302, 0502, 0511
Background working with USINDOPACOM, MARFORPAC, HQMC, combatant command staff, Service component staff, or MEF headquarters
