About the Role
K2 | Mission-Ready Government Solutions is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented HR Specialist (Journeyman) for an immediate opening at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam (JBPHH) in support of Space Force Indo-Pacific. This role serves as the primary point of contact for civilian personnel recruitment, onboarding, and HR operations — ensuring staffing actions are executed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with policy.
Clearance: Secret.
The Role
As an HR Specialist supporting Space Force Indo-Pacific, you'll serve as the subject matter expert for civilian personnel hiring actions, guiding managers through the full recruitment lifecycle, managing onboarding, and supporting broader HR operations. Reporting directly to HR leadership, you'll be essential to a smooth employee experience and the organization's workforce readiness goals.
Responsibilities
Recruitment & Hiring Coordination
Serve as the primary resource for all civilian personnel hiring actions, providing guidance to hiring managers on procedures and compliance
Prepare, initiate, and manage required paperwork for each stage of the hiring process, including job descriptions, personnel action requests, and candidate documentation
Coordinate with internal departments or external classification authorities to ensure roles are clearly defined and aligned with organizational standards
Liaise with partner offices and centralized HR teams to track hiring workflows and resolve process bottlenecks
Organize and support selection panels' scheduling, resume distribution, scoring, and records management
Track and report hiring activity status to HR leadership and relevant stakeholders
Onboarding & Personnel Support
Serve as the initial point of contact for new employees, managing orientation, compliance documents, and organizational integration
Ensure new hires understand available resources, workplace policies, and key contacts from day one
HR Operations & Administrative Support
Maintain digital and paper records, submit forms, and assist with routine audits
Participate in process improvement projects and contribute solutions to enhance HR delivery
Support employee data analysis and produce management reports as needed
Salary: $70,000–$83,000 annually

Requirements
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
Demonstrated experience supporting civilian personnel recruitment, onboarding, or HR operations
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent hiring actions
Familiarity with personnel action workflows, compliance requirements, and records management
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience supporting federal civilian HR operations or military personnel offices
Familiarity with DoD or federal agency hiring regulations and classification standards
Experience with HR information systems and personnel tracking tools
Professional HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP)
